Jacob Hoggard was born in Burnaby, Canada, in the year 1984. He schooled at Senator Reid Elementary School, Mennonite Educational Institute, Yale Secondary School in Abbotsford, and L.A. Matheson Secondary School. He also attended City Central Learning Center.
He came from a Christian religious Family and has a mixed ethnic background. He was born by Nigel Allen and Elaine Allen.
Jacob Hoggard is a Canadian singer and songwriter well known as the lead singer of Hedley, the pop-rock band. He competed on the second season of Canadian idol before Hedley was formed, where he was in third place.

On March 5, 2018, a Toronto woman was also accused by Hoggard of rape and detailed her encounter with Hoggard in March of 2013. Hoggard said that the incident was consensual and the accusations were false.
Hoggard was charged with two counts of sexual assault and a count of sexual interference, which involved an under-16 girl and a woman on July 23, 2018.
